Lane had his 2 week appointment on Wednesday. He has gained 12 oz. since leaving the hospital and has grown an inch and a half. He doesn't go back to the doctor until mid-January, so I'll be anxious to see how he's grown then. That appointment also brings *gulp* shots. Mom is not too excited about that!
Lane had an eventful "2 week" birthday! The day started with a trip to Grand Forks with Grandma Lois and Great-Grandma Winky. We stopped at Great-Aunt Denise's bank first so that she could snuggle with Lane and show him off to her co-workers. He was a very good baby at the bank and soaked in all the attention. Hopefully he doesn't get too big of a head with all the "oohs" and "ahhs" and the "He's so cute!" comments! :)
Our next stop was Target. I needed diapers, wipes, and other baby paraphernalia. I had a list, so planned for a quick trip. Lane must have sensed that we were shopping (typical man) and loudly voiced his opinion. I ended up taking him out of his car seat and Grandma carried him through Target. He was much happier then!

Thursday afternoon brought a trip to Grandma Lois's bank. Her co-worker, Ann, gave Lane the adorable Sioux stocking cap. I had to put it on him right away. Dad still has not seen it. I figure he can wear Bison gear when he's with dad!! For now, we need to get him started on the right foot! Go Sioux!
After stopping at the bank, we headed to the elementary school. Lane was "show & tell" in my classroom, Grandpa Ted's classroom, and in Mrs. Fugleberg's classroom. He didn't do much showing off, just slept the whole time. The kids in my class made cards for Lane and I. They were full of advice on raising a baby. So cute!
Our last big event of the day was Lane's baby shower given by the teachers at school. This kid is going to be the best dressed kid around! He received so many cute gifts! It was so nice! He was passed around and held by everyone in attendance and was very good the entire time. Jodi and Emilie gave me a "ready-made" scrapbook with all the pages put together. All I have to do is add pictures. It is awesome!! Now I need to find my creative genes and get started putting pictures in it. Yikes!!
Justin, Lane, and I are riding out "Blizzard Ali" today. Justin finished combining corn yesterday before the big blizzard hit. Now we're relaxing at home watching the snow fly. Gotta love ND! Hope everyone is staying warm and safe!
Love, Erin, Justin, & Lane

I was thinking of you in this blizzard - glad your original due date turned out to be not needed and that Lane is safely with you - no blizzard runs to the hospital necessary!
O.K. Emilie told me what I was doing wrong with my comments so I will attempt to leave another one....it usually just eats mine.
I too thought of you guys during the blizzard. Thinking oh just think if she had the baby this weekend. GOOD BOY Lane on arriving when you did.
