Back to School

I know it has been a long time since I've written anything, and I'm sure you've all been holding your breath!!!


I had to start back to work today. Lane went to Great Aunt Peggy's house this morning. I hated having to take him out when the temperature was -32 (that is the actual temp, not with the wind chill). It wasn't as hard as I thought it would be to leave him since he was with Peggy, but I think when he goes to his actual daycare next week, it might be different. I did shed a few tears when I arrived at school and was met by Sue Peterson with a hug and a meal that she had made for Justin and I so we wouldn't have to worry about it tonight when we got home. She is such a gem!! I am counting the hours until I can go and pick him up--4 hours, 50 minutes! I shouldn't be blogging right now as I have piles of stuff on my desk to attend to!!




So here's a little update about what's been going on with Lane and the Risovi household...

• I am no longer nursing. After many nights of being up every 2 hours (or shorter), missing out on a lot of Christmas activities due to nursing so frequently, pumping to only get 2 oz., and a case of mastitis, I decided that both Lane and I would be happier switching to formula. I am happy to report that he is taking 6 oz. at each feeding and sleeping for 4 1/2 to 5 hours at a time!! It was a good move for both of us.




• On that note, Mr. Lane is up to 11 lbs. 6 oz.!! He is sure a chubby cheeked little boy, but I figure it's just more to kiss! The doctor says he's perfect, and I agree!




• Lane is now sleeping in his own room in his crib. We had him in our room for a month, but Justin got tired of having to climb over the bed to get in it and stubbing his toe on the pack and play, so Lane got booted. The transition went fine, however he sometimes finds his way back into our room because mom falls asleep before she can put him back in his crib...oops!




• I have been keeping a Photobucket page of all the pictures I have taken of Lane. That address is www.photobucket.com/lanerisovi. There are also some videos, complete with one of him filling his pants, that he's going to love me for at his graduation.
